8:15am Gather at an open space near visitor centre, Tai Kwun, 10 Hollywood Road, Central, HK

Programme Highlights
Tai Kwun Project (Central Police Station Conservation and Revitalization Project) successfully transformed the unique cluster of historically significant buildings in Hong Kong into a centre for heritage, contemporary arts and leisure for the public to enjoy.  It involved fire engineering approach that successfully minimized the interventions on the original design features of the heritage buildings without sacrifice of the fire engineering integrity.

The Project includes the conservation of 16 historic buildings and construction of two new buildings designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Herzog & de Meuron.  Following an introduction to the project, participants will be led for a tour of both the heritage and newly built elements of this project with guidance of a project staff of the HKJC and a fire engineer of the project.
