This training course consists of six lectures covering the six domains of fire engineering with case studies, which constitute the admission requirements for the Fire Discipline of the HKIE. We are honoured to have eminent academics, experienced professionals, senior consultants and government officials who possess substantial practical experiences to introduce concepts of active and passive fire protection measures and practical applications; fire safety and building management; fire science and modelling; human psychology for fire evacuation; and fire safety legislation and statutory control. The entire course is suitably structured to deliver a wide range of knowledge of fundamental engineering principles on various domains and illustrated with real life examples. Hence these CPD courses will be meritorious for a full range of professional engineers, from young engineers to veterans, who are interested to be admitted into the Fire Discipline of the HKIE. Attendance of all or selected lectures will be particularly important and useful for experienced engineers who have been practicing on fire engineering works but have not acquired such knowledge in their undergraduate studies to fill up the gaps of the required expertise and skills as a Qualified Fire Engineer for satisfying the admission requirements through the route of Additional Discipline.
